Lawyers for Regina, wife of former president Fredrick Chiluba, have urged the court to overturn her three-year sentence.
Her Lawyer Robert Simeza told a panel of three judges that the prosecution of Regina was based on conjecture and speculation.
He said the prosecution failed to prove the grounds of possession.
He told Judges Evans Hamaundu, Catherine Makungu and Eddie Sikazwe that the prosecution in the lower court did not prove that Regina had failed to account for the property.
He also argued that the court did not act in proportionate with the appellants station in life before having suspected her of having acquired the property in question illegally.
The appeal will be heard continuously in the next three days.
