UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to Zambians to reject candidates who are planning to legalise homosexuality in Zambia.
Hichilema was speaking to journalists after addressing a mammoth rally in George compound in Lusaka, Sunday afternoon.
Hichilema said whether there is a United Nations resolution to support gay rights or not, Zambia is a Christian nation that needs decency.
He wondered how some one can encourage a man to marry another man.
He said homosexuality is not just antichristian but also not African.
He said Zambians should protect Zambian children from politicians who are secretly plotting to bring strange values.
He said it is not normal for a Zambian leader to support homosexuality.
At the rally, Hichilema urged the people to vote for him as he is the only one who can bring real change to Zambia.
He said the MMD government has failed to develop Zambia as can be seen from the poverty in places like George Compound which are not far from State house.
