A member of the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) is seeking a court order to force LAZ to stop conducting business on Saturday.
Lusaka based lawyer Kelvin Hangandu has filed an injunction in the Lusaka High court arguing that Saturday is the Sabbath day of God.
He says therefore LAZ should not conduct any official business from sunset on Friday until sunset on Saturday.
He argues that he and other Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) members of LAZ believe in the Sabbath of God and have therefore been sidelined when it comes to taking up elective positions in LAZ because LAZ always holds elections on the Sabbath.
