Rev Banda fasts against Tilyenji Kaunda

Former UNIP secretary General Reverend, Alfred Banda, has began 21 days of prayer and fasting to press Party president, Tilyenji Kaunda to call for a national Congress.

Reverend Banda says he is praying and fasting because Mr. Kaunda has defied his 7 day ultimatum to call for a national Congress in line with the party’s constitution.

He says should Mr. Kaunda fail to call for a national Congress after 21 days, he will lead a group of what he termed aggrieved UNIP members to demonstrate.

Reverend Banda said in a statement to ZNBC news that the UNIP National Congress will address a number of problems facing the party.
