“People are tired with these jokers in leadership that have seen mealie meal prices reach record high levels, fuel is high, electricity tariffs, a collapsing economy dependant on borrowing with a Kwacha that is on a free fall. Zambians also want their constitution immediately,” he said.
“Guy Scott told us to start with local government wards, yes we have beaten them. Guy Scott also told us not to change leadership like pants, but this pant (PF) is choking Zambians as it is too dirty with corruption to keep wearing it,” he said.
He maintained that the UPND will not be detracted by any form of propaganda and demands for a new constitution, especially that huge resources have already been spent on the document.
“Our policies are very clear on the core issues of Agriculture, education, quality health care, and prudence economic management anchored on accountability, good governance, and respect for human rights,” he said.
He called on all Zambians regardless of race, tribe, religion, to join hands with the UPND revolution so as to regain the lost glory after and move Zambia forward again.
Mr. Hichilema thanked all the campaign teams from all parts of the country and well-wishers who did there best to win the seats despite limited resources especially against the ruling PF that was abusing government machinery and resources.
“I thank the people of Zambia for the confidence shown in our party. Our campaign teams across the country that did there best despite intimidation and bribery. This is just the beginning and I urge them never to relax as the journey is still bumpy but nearing towards liberating Zambians, ” he said.
And newly elected Katuba MP, Mr. Shakafuswa and thanked his party the UPND, the people of Katuba and Zambians at large for the massive support in the victory.
