RTSA to charge K450 on each impounded vehicle

Road Transport and Safety Agency will now be charging motorist 225 kwacha daily for keeping impounded cars in its custody on top the fine on any traffic offense committed.

And the agency will now be tolling even cars that have run out fuel on the road side and be charged a toll fee of 450 kwacha within a 20 Kilometers radius.

The Patriotic Front regime is determined sell all motor vehicles that are the custody of the RTSA, and charge innocent motorist for impounding their vehicles.
Brian Mushimba has signed a statutory Instrument 81 that will empower the RTSA charge 225 and 450 for small and heavy duty vehicles respectively regardless of whether the matter is in its fast track court.
This means the agency upon selling vehicles in its custody 6,750 for solon cars and 13, 500 for heavy motor vehicles will be deducted.
