Ruling party cadres plan to invade parliament and intimidate opposition

Lusaka Province PF youth chairman Kennedy Kamba says PF youths will tomorrow storm parliament and confront opposition MPs if they will continue demanding a new constitution.

But UPND deputy spokesperson Cornellius Mweetwa countered that the PF is not the only party with youths.

Earlier, Defence minister Edgar Lungu said soldiers would be deployed to fight opposition MPs in parliament if they continue demanding the constitution.

Probably Mr Lungu should think hard and twice before involving soldiers because soldiers are soldiers and are not like policemen who follow blindly.

Keep soldiers out of politics or you maybe the one to regret.

Kamba said the PF youths would be forced to go inside parliament and restore order.

He said the youths are disappointed that opposition MPs who are supposed to make laws are promoting anarchy. The constitution is the supreme law of the land and therefor MPS are within their mandate to demand a good one.

But UPND’s Cornelius Mweetwa said UPND cadres are 24 hours alert and if needs be, will also move in to protect their MPs.
