to the Zambian government for accepting to host thousands of Rwandans who fled the mass killings.

The Minister is in Zambia to explain to Rwandan refugees about the conducive environment prevailing in their country.

Mr Protais was speaking in Lusaka on Wednesday when he called on his Zambian Counterpart, Benny Tetamshimba, at his office.

And Mr. Tetamashimba commended the Rwandan refugees for their good conduct during their stay in Zambia.

The Rwandan genocide was precipitated by the assasination of President Juvenal Habyarimana on April 6, 1994.

Hundreds of Rwandan Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed by Hutu militias during the genocide.

President Habyarimama was killed after his plane was shot down near Kigali airport.
