SACCORD warns that strikes may cause instability

Southern Africa Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) Information Officer Obby Chibuluma says Zambia risks falling into instability due to the current uprisings by workers in various companies.

Chibuluma told the Watchdog that there is need for workers to dialogue with their employers so that their grievances are heard prior to strikes.

He noted that some local and foreign investors might close their businesses for fear of losing production and this will result in slow growth of the economy.

Chibuluma urged workers in the country to table issues with their employers and avoid work stoppages if they are to see more money in their pockets and improve their livelihood.
