SACCORD calls for number of polling agents to increase

Sothern African Centre for Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) has condemned the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) for its failure to appoint more election agents to monitor polls.

SACCORD Information Officer Obby Chibuluma said such a move will only cause tension and rouse suspicion among electorate and political players.

Chibuluma said the electoral body should rescind its decision and engage more polling agents to allow transparency in the forthcoming elections.

He further said the ECZ should consider politicians and citizens as it makes decisions of national importance so the Commission will not be blamed for outcome of elections.
