SACCORD condemns violence in Mufumbwe, Milanzi

Southern African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD has condemned violence being reported in Mufumbwe and Milanzi ahead of the forthcoming by-elections in the two constituencies.
Speaking to radio phoenix SACCORD Executive Director Lee Habasonda said democracy cannot be deepened if people are being forced to choose leaders they do not want.
Habasonda appealed to political parties to desist from intimidating from intimidating and bribing voters as such is not in their best interest.
Meanwhile, Council; of Churches in Zambia (CCZ )General Secretary Suzanne Matale says her organization will not support women politicians who are not addressing issues of national development.
Matale further appealed to women who are standing or aspiring for seats not to join the men who are busy politicking and mudslinging, but articulate issues and bring them to the fore.
