Information and Broadcasting minister Kennedy Sakeni has been admitted to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH)’s VIP fast track ward with an undisclosed illness.
Mr. Sakani who is also Mansa central PF MP has been admitted at the hospital since Sunday this week, joining the long list of ailing senior PF leaders.
Sources close to the minister say he has been unwell for sometime now and was supposed to be in hospital sometime last week but was forced to attend the parliamentary session that Fred Mmembe, Mutembo Nchito and Wynter Kabimba needed enough numbers to vote for the lifting of former president Rupiah Banda’s immunity.
Mr. Sakeni is well known for signing media statements done by the Mmembe clique that is running a parallel but powerful PF government.
He has so far not been heard since last week, despite the many opposition leaders statements that he would have been forced to react.
