Sampa says still in the race, explains why he withdrew earlier

Miles Sampa posted this statement on his Facebook:

Following a statement issued this morning regarding my withdrawal from the PF Presidential race, I wish to clarify the reason behind my pronouncement earlier.

1. In the early hours of this morning, at Mulungushi Rock of Authority, there was no accreditation of delegates whatsoever. It was unclear who was a delegate and who was not. The entry was free for all.

2. Furthermore, the police were forcing delegates and supporters wearing Miles Sampa branded t-shirts to remove their attire before entering the grounds, while those wearing Edgar Lungu regalia were being allowed to enter as is.

3. It was unmistakeable that the democratic process was being
hijacked. PF and Zambia were being robbed of their democratic right to select their preferred canditate.

I have since been vindicated because other candidates have voiced similar concerns.
The announcement also raised concerns among my supporters from Southern, Luapula, Copperbelt, Lusaka, Northern and Western Provinces to leave the arena and immediately travel to Lusaka
to confirm this. In their distress they urged me to stay in the
race.

I wish to confirm to all my supporters and well wishers that we have since been assured that our concerns will be addressed immediately and I am subsequently STILL IN THE RACE . I look forward to hearing from the PF Secretariat regarding the resolution of what occurred today, and what will be done going forward to ensure a free and fair elective process.

I am humbled and touched by the overwhelming support and solidarity shown today and hope for the sake of all of us that democracy prevails.
