Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) Deputy National Chairman Kabinga Pande says the UPND/PF pact will never succeed in Kasempa district in the North Western province.
Mr. Pande says the Pact only claims to be popular in urban areas and not in rural areas.
Mr. Pande, who is also Kasempa MP says the ruling MMD has maintained grip in Kasempa district.
He said this is Kasempa Tuesday when he addressed Lukeka MMD members in Mitumba area, 45 KM away from Kasempa Boma.
He said the Pact’s co-leaders; PF’s Michael Sata and UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema are frustrated and telling lies to the Zambian people because they have nothing to offer.
Mr. Pande said Mr. Sata has been rejected by the Zambian people thrice (2001,2006, and 2008) while Mr. Hichilema lost the Presidency twice in 2006 and 2008.
He said the two leaders were just wasting their time on political arena because they would not be voted for adding that the ruling party was not threatened by the Pact.
Mr. Pande warned that the Pact would fall because political alliances in Zambia only work for a short period of time.
He urged the Zambian people to work with the MMD government because it has shown maturity in the way it was leading the country through President Rupiah Banda.
He charged that the opposition was only bent on politics of insults, vulgar language, violence and harassment of other politicians instead of offering alternatives to the government.
