President Michael Sata has arrived in Mufumbwe district of North -Western province to drum up support for the Patriotic Front (PF) candidate Steven Masumba in the November 8, by election.
The President arrived at Kalengwa airstrip at about 10:55 hrs aboard a Zambia Air force chopper.
Mr Sata is accompanied to Mufumbwe by Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba, Local Government Minister Emerine Kabanshi, National Revolution Party President Cosmo Mumba and his Assistant for Press and Public Relations George Chellah.
Upon arrival at the airstrip, the President urged the people of Mufumbwe to vote for the PF candidate Steven Masumba if they want development in the area.
Mr Sata said the PF government want to use its candidate to implement developmental projects in the district.
“Vote for MMD if you don’t want development in Mufumbwe. The choice is yours,” he said.
After addressing cadres at the airstrip, the President proceeded to Belvar Lodge where he addressed traditional leaders of Mufumbwe district.
President Sata is expected to address two public rallies at Matushi which is 35 km away from Mufumbwe boma and Kyamwina grounds in Mufumbwe Central.
