President Michael Sata has declared Tuesday December 24 and Tuesday December 31, 2013 as public holidays.
These two dates precede Christmas and New Year’s days respectively
Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska announced the development in a statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
Dr. Msiska said the declaration is only for this year.
But in the afternoon, Msiska withdrew the statement and apologized for the inconvenience caused in the withdrawal of the declaration.
He said this in a press statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.
The Secretary to the Cabinet earlier stated that President Sata had declared Tuesday, 24 December and December 31 as public holidays.
The statement further said that the declaration of the two days as public holidays was only applicable this year.
