President Michael Sata is expected to travel to Equatorial Guinea next week for the 2014 African Union (AU) summit.
President Sata will join other heads of States and Governments in the meeting, which started today, June 20, 2014.
The meeting of presidents (Assembly of the Union) will officially open on June 26, 2014, which means president Sata must be in Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinean by Wednesday next week.
African Union Commission Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma has already opened the 23rd Ordinary Summit of the AU whose theme is “Agriculture and Food Security”,
President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo will host the summit.
Special guests of the summit are UN Secretary General, H.E. Ban Ki-moon and Spain’s Prime Minister, H.E. Mariano Rajoy Brey, along with other invited guests.
Representatives of AU member states, AU organs, observers, partners and the media have been arriving in Malabo ahead of heads of delegations and the AU Heads of State and Government.
