President Michael Sata is on Moday expected in Petauke District Eastern Province where he will drum up support for Patriotic Front Parliamentary Candidate Kennel Joseph Lungu in the Msanzala by-elections slated for Thursday 16 February.
Sata is expected to touch down at Nyampande air strip around 09:00 hrs. after which he will pay a curtsey call on chief Sandwe of the Nsenga people before addressing a rally at Ukwimi A Basic School grounds at 10:00.
Eastern Province permanent Secretary Hlobotha Nkunika confirmed this to ZANIS in an interview today.
President Sata is expected to call on chief Nyampande of the Nsenga people before addressing another public meeting at Nyampande Basic School at 14:00.
He is expected to return to Lusaka later in the afternoon.
The Msanzala Parliamentary seat fell vacant following the resignation of an independent MP Joseph Lungu who is re-contesting the seat on the ruling PF ticket.
Others vying the same seat are Former MP Peter Daka MMD, who is also former Science and Technology Minister, Shadereck Banda UNIP and Maumba Usuman, independent.
