President Michael Sata on Saturday morning knelt down as he thanked Copperbelt residents for voting for him and ushering the Patriotic Front into government.
President Sata noted that without their massive support, the PF would have remained in the opposition.
He pledged to deliver on his campaign promises saying some have already been achieved such as lower taxes.
President Sata said people should not feel ashamed because their support for the PF was not in vain.
He was speaking during the official commissioning of the 40-thousand seater Chinese built stadium named after the late President Levy Mwanawasa in Ndola.
