Ailing dictator president Michael Sata has directed his auntie Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda to make sure she nullifies UPND’s Zambezi west seat held by Charles Kakoma who is also the party’s spokesperson.
Highly placed sources within the judiciary have told the Watchdog that Kakoma’s seat, which was petitioned by the PF and now awaiting ruling at Supreme Court is among those earmarked for nullification and the judiciary will immediately prepare a report for the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) so that Mr. Kakoma does not qualify to stand.
“As we are talking, Madam Chibesakunda has been working with Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba to have the seat nullified so that PF can again try their lucky in North-Western province where the UPND is very strong. Mr. Sata is determined to salvage something in any UPND stronghold to make-up for the humiliation defeat the PF suffered in areas such as PF stronghold of Copperbelt,” sources said.
Sources said the matter is likely to come up for ruling anytime soon, even tomorrow.
“That’s why Mr. Sata is having problems to act on issues to do with Kabimba regarding party cadres petitioning for his removal because he is dealing with these sensitive issues,” sources disclosed.
