Sata reschedules Mongu rallies to coincide with Duffy Burial as state deploys police

Patriotic Front presidential candidate Michael Sata has rescheduled his campiagn rallies to Western province so that his trip can coincide with the burial program of Bishop Paul Duffy.

And the state has deployed hundreds of police office in Mongu for yet to be known reasons.

Sata was scheduled to travel to Mongu Wednesday but upon hearing that Duffy will be buried on Monday, he postponed the trip.

He will instead travel on Sunday.

The late former Mongu Diocese Catholic Bishop Paul Duffy will be put to rest on Monday, 5th September 2011 at Our Ladies of Lourdes Catheral grounds in Mongu.

The body of the late bishop arrives in the country on Friday, 2 September 2011.

A funeral mass for Bishop Duffy will be conducted at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka on September 3, followed by body viewing before departure for Mongu the following day.

A religious reception will be conducted at Kaande in Mongu where the body is expected to lie in state.

Bishop Duffy died last Tuesday in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 79 after suffering from Leukaemia.
