Sata sends presidential chopper to collect withdrawal letter from Evelyn Mwanawasa

Ailing dictator Michael Sata this (Thursday) sent his presidential chopper to go and collect a letter from Evelyn Mwanawasa to announce her withdrawal from the Kafulafuta by-election.

Mwanawasa, who is said to be sick and hospitalised was the MMD parliamentary by-election candidate. She has not personally said anything so far but a PF agent announced on her behalf on Wednesday that she has withdrawn.

The MMD dismissed the reported withdrawal as the work of the PF.

On Thursday morning, Sata decided to use millions of tax-payers money in order to win the Kafulafuta by-election by making sure that Mwanawasa has withdrawn.

Sata sent ZAF and OP officers on his personal chopper to take the letter written at State House Mwanawasa at the hospital in Ndola for her to sign.

The Watchdog understands that Mwanawasa signed the letter on her sickbed with OP and ZAF officers hovering over her.

The letter, which was addressed to the Electoral Commission of Zambia, was then flown to Lusaka

Last week PF secretary general Winter Kabimba vowed that the party will win the Kafulafuta seat at all cost. A source at ECZ has confirmed receiving a letter from Evelyn but do not know who took it there.
