Sata sets Friday 13 as day of national mourning for Nakatindi wina

President Michael Sata has declared Friday April 13, 2012 as a day of national mourning in recognition of the late former Minister of the then Ministry of Community Development and Social Services Princess Nakatindi Wina.

President Sata said the national mourning will start from 06:00 hours and end at 18:00 hours.

Following this declaration of Friday as a day of national mourning, all flags will fly at half -mast while activities of entertainment nature should be postponed or cancelled.

Mrs. Wina died on Thursday April 5, 2012 at Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Princess Nakatindi Wina, whose body arrives in the country today Thursday, 12th April at 12:50 hours, will be buried on Saturday, April 14, 2012 in Mwandi, Sesheke.

This is contained in a statement made available to ZANIS in Lusaka today by Secretary to Cabinet Evans Chibiliti.

Mr. Chibiliti said the body of the former minister will lie-in-state at her Mimosa Farm in Chilanga before being flown to Sesheke on Friday after a Church service at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Lusaka.

He said upon arrival in Mwandi, the body of the late Princess Nakatindi Wina will again lie-in-state before being put to rest the following day.

The funeral is currently being held at her Mimosa Farm in Chilanga in Lusaka.
