Sata Snubs Masebo as Sacika calls for her prosecution

President Michael Sata on Thursday 20/03/14 snubbed former Tourism Minister Sylvia Masebo when she went to State House sources have disclosed. Meanwhile, former Secretary to the Cabinet Skechly Sacika has called for prosecution of Sylvia Masebo because she committed a crime.
According to a State House source, Masebo on Thursday March 20,2014 went to state house to talk to Sata after reports went round that she was about to be fired. At State House however, President Sata was adamant to talk to Masebo.
“She came and started waiting in the waiting room. Staff told the President Honourable Masebo has been waiting for some time and all the President said was let her wait. The President did not even talk to her. The following day she was fired” the source said.
Meanwhile, Former Secretary to the Cabinet Skechly Sacika has called for prosecution of Sylvia Masebo because he believes she committed perjury.
In a statement released in Lusaka yesterday, Mr. Sacika said it was unfortunate that Minister Masebo decided to drag President Sata into the proceedings of the tribunal set up to probe her alleged misconduct in the ZAWA affair without offering any concrete written proof that the President had authorised her to act as she did.Sacika says Masebo knew that the President could not have been subpoenad by the tribunal to attest to her claims. He says in a statement that under Zambian laws, it is criminal to communicate a falsehood to a judicial body having sworn on the Bible to tell the truth. Sacika says Masebo’s claims at the tribunal cast aspersions on the integrity of President Sata to the extent that the President is portrayed as a man who is prepared to engage in questionable activities.
