President Michael Sata has suspended cabinet office Permanent secretary in charge of administration Anna Mwitwa for alleged financial misappropriation, a week after the Watchdog exposed Mwitwa and her husband agriculture deputy minister Rodgers Mwewa who hired the whole Protea hotel for a weekend entertainment with their close friends.
Sources from cabinet office told the Watchdog that Mwitwa, a proven alcoholic with a failed previous marriage of two children was handed the letter yesterday and was not at work today. The sources also revealed that the Anti corruption commission ACC have been instructed to commence investigations.
Mwitwa was Luapula province permanent secretary during which she met Mwewa during a tour of duty and the duo started a flirt and later got married. She later replaced Sata’s ex concubine Inutu Suba as central province Permanent secretary before she was transferred to cabinet office.
Her husband is also linked to a multi billion fertilizer scandal which also involves Agriculture minister Bob Sichinga and Sata himself.
