Sata tells HH he is babbyish and should learn to love other tribes

President Sata

President Sata has advised United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema to love even Zambians who are not of his ethnic background.
Last Thursday, Hichilema wrote to Sata rebuking him over his lack of manners and diplomacy. This was in reference to Sata’s attacks on  former United States President George Bush when he visited State House earlier this month.
In his letter, Hichilema said: “It is now clear and a pattern has been established that since you took office as President of the Republic of Zambia, your perpetual habit of abusing, demeaning and ridiculing innocent and defenceless citizens and other people with impunity has continued.”
But President Sata has told Hichilema to be humble and to love Zambians regardless of which region they come from.
Sata said: “Reference is made to your letter dated 19th July, 2012, which you elected to give to the media even before it reached my desk. That conduct alone demonstrates the ill-will and babyish approach to national matters.
‘Mr Hichilema, learn some humility and do your best to develop some love for all the Zambians even those from different ethnic backgrounds or groupings, and you might just be a constructive leader if you did that.
“And a sober assessment of your own qualities would have helped you to be a more useful citizen to our country.”
“Clearly, from your letter, I can see that you have chosen to become the spokesperson for the local US embassy and Mr Rupiah Bwezani Banda’s protégé and ‘chola boy’ .”
Sata also accuses Hichilema of taking part in the privatisation and liquidation of Government firms when he was a partner in an auditing firm.
“…the reality about your character is that though you want to pretend to be championing the interests of our innocent populace, your track record proves that your interests have always been self-centred.
“This explains why you are a principal beneficiary of one of the country’s most fraudulent economic policies that resulted in the reckless selling off of assets of our parastatal companies; thereby condemning many of our people to joblessness, poverty, breakdown of families and even premature deaths, while you amassed gluttonous wealth at their expense,” writes the President.
“What is even worse is that you, the self-seeking prime recipient of this deceptive policy today wants to be speaking for the same people whose poverty situation and misery you participated in creating. Surely, even in politics, there must be decency and reliability
“…when you have dealt with your bitterness, I will be happy to listen to you on any matter that benefits our people. I was elected to serve the Zambian people in all the 10 provinces, ” said Sata.
