Sata to appoint 76-year old Walamba as envoy to Ghana

President Michael Sata will soon announce the appointment of Timothy Walamba as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Ghana.

Walamba, 76 years old, is a former Chairman of the Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) and one of the  three cronies  of the late Frederick Chiluba when he was trade unuion leader. The other two cronies  were late Chitalu Sampa and Newstead Zimba.

While Samapa and Zimba  served in the Chiluba regime, Walamba found solace in the UPND as Chairperson for Labour. This was during the period 1998 to 2006.

Walamba who also served as a Member of the Central Committee in the UNIP government is currently staying at Parliament Motel awaiting to leave for Accra, Ghana.

Said a source: ‘Walamba does not qualify to be a diplomat at that high level. Just like the appointing authority, Walamba is another bully that lacks diplomatic skills.’
