Sata to blame for forthcoming 9 bye-elections – Ndhlovu

A former deputy minister in the Chiluba administration says President Sata will be to blame should the country have the nine by-elections as a result of the looming expulsion of the MMD parliamentarians serving in the Patriotic front Government.

Alfred Ndhlovu, former communication and transport deputy minister, says that the fact that President Michael Sata has not picked any member of parliament from the UPND to serve in his government is a fact that he is only interested to destabilize the MMD especially in Eastern province.

Mr. Ndhlovu says there is no way a party that won an election can opt to use members of a party that lost to run its administration.

Speaking to QFM, Mr. Ndhlovu says it would have been understood if president Sata had only picked 3 of the MMD MP’s to work with and not a huge number of nine.

And Mr. Ndhlovu says the by-elections if to take place, would not be as expensive as the dissolution of parliament as earlier threatened by president Sata.

Mr. Ndhlovu says it is up to those in power to ensure that the country does not spend on any by-election by finding replacements for the opposition MP’s serving in government.
