Sata’s ATM captured as he tries to withdraw cash from ZANACO

President Michael Sata Saturday afternoon failed to withdraw money from a ZANACO Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at the ongoing Trade Fair in Ndola.

Sata in the company of Zambia Trade Fair chairman Phesto Musonda, Commerce minister Bob Sichinga and Agriculture minister Emmanuel Chenda while touring the Zanaco pavilion suddenly reached for his ATM card and pushed it in the machine.

But the president’ card was captured by the machine.

ZANACO officials promptly claimed that there was Internet failure as the president was about to withdraw money.

President Sata told ZANACO officials that it was the ZANACO director who has failed, and not the internet line.

A lot of people have been complaining of poor services by ZANACO from the time Sata appointed a Commission of Inquiry to look into the manner the parastatal was sold.

But ceremonial vice-president Guy Scott on Friday told parliament that ZANACO was working well and making huge profits.
