Sata’s press conference set for tomorrow but…

President Michael Sata will hold his first press conference tomorrow Thursday at 11 hours.

His private secretary Francis Chalabesa says invited guests should be seated by 10:30 hours.

Chalabesa said ‘their Excellences High Commissioners and Ambassadors, and all Honourable Members of Parliament are invited to the function. All should be seated by 10: 30hrs.’

He emphasized that ‘this is the first Press Conference to be hosted by the President since his inauguration on Friday September 23, 2011.’

But there is still confusion on the holding of the press conference as there are two conflicting statements from Statehouse.

A second statement from State house says:

‘Kindly be advised that there has been an adjustment in tomorrow’s programme. Please ignore the first statement announcing a Press Conference. Thank you.

‘Michael Chilufya Sata, President of the Republic of Zambia, will on Thursday September 29, 2011 host a swearing-in ceremony at State House.

‘All Honourable Members of Parliament and media representatives should be seated by 0900hrs.’
