Scott says he won’t resign and wont be blackmailed

Acting president Guy Scott says any cabinet minister purporting to convene a cabinet meeting committing treason.

And Scott says he will not resign and that he will not be not be blackmailed by people trying to use government resources.

Cabinet ministers supporting the candidature of Chawama MP Edgar Lungu earlier called on Scott to resign saying he has failed to run the country. They did not explain how he has failed to run the country .

But in response Scott said there is no law that allows a group of ministers to make such a demand. The acting president said it is only he or the vice-president who can convene and chair a cabinet meeting. In fact Scott is the acting president and substantive vice-president.  Scott said in the transition period he will act as president, he will not allow abuse of public resources for partisan interests.
