Shikapwasha asks Sata to state his position on Zambia being Christian nation

Shikapwasha worried Sata may remove God from constitution

Former minister of information Lieutenant General Shikapwasha  has accused president Michael Sata of failing to state clearly if under his reign Zambia’ status as a Christian nation will be maintained.

And Shikapwasha has accused the PF government of single-sourcing the director general of the Zambian National broadcasting corporation (ZNBC).

Shikapwasha told parliament Wednesday that the ZNBC Act demands that the position of the national broadcaster’s director general should be advertised.

“The appointment for ZNBC’s DG was single-sourced and did not give many Zambians an opportunity to compete,” Gen Shikapwasha said.

Current minister of information Given Lubinda gave the job of ZNBC director-general to Joe Chilaizya as payment for helping the PF in the campaigns.

The dreadlocked Chilaizya was in 2010 rejected as ZNBC director of programs, a lower position than director general, due to his poor qualifications.

And Shikapwasha said president Sata’s address to parliament was hot air as it did not address key issues as the mine taxes and national security.

He observed that Sata did not even mention the status of Zambia as a Christian nation.

And Shikapwasha apologised to Sata for any bad words he may have used against him during elections.
