Shortage of jet 1 fuel cause BA flight to re-route to Tanzania

British Airways flight BA 254 has been delayed at Lusaka International Airport due to critical shortage of jet 1 fuel used for aircrafts in Zambia.

Sources from the PF government and passengers have confirmed that the flight has since been been re-routed to Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania for refueling.

Some passangers have said the airline has since  written to passengers advising those that have connecting flights to consider cancelling of rebooking their flight schedules as the flight will be delayed.

Sources within the PF government said the problem is likely to continue because the company that has been supplying jet 1 fuel in Zambia has had its licence cancelled in order to give the contract to some other ruling PF cadre.
