Sichone quits toothles ZCID

Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) spokesman Langton Sichone has resigned citing academic pressure.
Speaking in an interview with Muvi TV in Lusaka, Mr. Sichone disclosed that he is pursuing a law degree and that claimed that pressure has forced him to step down from ZCID.
However, he added that he would continue seating on the ZCID board since he is still Secretary General of the United Liberal Party.
And Mr. Sichone says the ZCID should work tirelessly to host the Presidents? summit ahead of the 2011 general
elections.
He adds that the hosting of this summit will help reduce tension in the build up to the elections.
The Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue has tried without success to host the President?s Summit in the recent past.
ZCID hosted the last summit for presidents of political parties in 2007.
