Sondashi says his party will win in Solwezi

Forum for Democratic Alternatives (FDA) President Ludwig Sondashi has expressed confidence that his party’s parliamentary candidate for the Solwezi Central By-election slated for 19th November, 2009 will emerge victorious.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS, Dr Sondashi expressed confidence that his candidate would scoop the seat because he is well known in the area.

The FDA president said the party decided to nominate Muhammed Kalela who comes from chief Kabijimpanga because of his prominence in the area. He said Kalela is a resident of Solwezi and is experienced in matters relating to the people of the area.

Dr Sondashi said his campaigns have started and everything was going on well.

He has since appealed to the people of Solwezi Central to vote for his candidate adding that only the FDA party knows what the people of Solwezi want.

He said other parties were not capable of delivering to people’s expectations because they have had their chance and failed to develop the constituency despite its vast natural resources.

Mr Kalela, a Human Resource Manager by profession and a Mine owner was the first to fill his nomination papers at the civic center at about 11.00 hours.

Solwezi Central seat fell vacant following the death of former area Member of Parliament Ben Tetamashimba.
