Tonga chiefs want RB, HH to meet

Five Chiefs from Kalomo and Choma districts in the Southern province of Zambia say Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata must not be given chance to rule the nation.
According to the resolution made during a four hour meeting at Kalomo Hotel today prior to meeting President Rupiah Banda in Mazabuka tomorrow, chiefs resolved not to campaign for Sata.
According to the source, the meeting which was attended by Chiefs Chikanta, Sipatunyana, Simwatachela, Macha and Hamaundu resolved to meet President Banda and ask him how best he would work with the UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema.
The source said the chiefs were of the idea of having President Banda and Hichilema meet to discuss a possible alliance in view of the collapse of the UPND/PF pact.
The source said chiefs were not against the PF but Sata who in their meeting they kept on referring to as a danger to society.
“We cannot allow this man to be our president, we shall not. The best we can do now is to talk to President Banda to openly declare interest in forming an alliance with HH, We must not allow Sata to be President of Zambia.”
The chiefs said Sata was tribal and if allowed to get the reign of the nation he would turn Zambia into a war zone such as in Ivory Coast and other Arab speaking nations.
The source said Chiefs wanted to meet Hichilema and President Banda and propose to them how best they would work together in order to allow for good and beneficial governance.
President Rupiah Banda is expected to meet all the 41 chiefs in Southern province in Mazabuka to solicit for a vote in the forthcoming presidential elections.
