Lungu agrees to replace Sata’s ‘contractors’ with RB’s

President Lungu has agreed to cancel most of the contractors engaged by late President Michael Sata’s PF administration and have them replaced by those preferred by former President Rupiah Banda.

A Watchdog source within State house has disclosed that shortly before Lungu started his North Western Province campaign tour he had a meeting with Rupiah concerning the blacklisting of most of the contracts awarded during the Sata administration.

The source also says that Lungu’s aide Lucky Mulusa’s project monitoring trips are a fault finding mission which will eventually lead to some contracts nullified, and that Rupiah has made an appointment to introduce some of his local and foreign preferred contractors.

“RB wants most of Sata’s contracts nullified so that he brings in his associates from whom he can access some commission. Even these project monitoring trips by Lucky Mulusa are just a cover up, afterwards Mulusa will produce a recommendation of cancelling some contracts which will eventually be given to the RB boys,” said the source.

Banda has since secured an appointment with Lungu for him to introduce a delegation of some investors from Turkey in the construction and mining industry. The delegation is expected to arrive in the country between 30th May and 2nd June 2015 and will meet Lungu at State house.
