State House version on dismissal of Teddy Mulonga

State House has finally confirmed the watchdog story on dismissal of Teddy Mulonga as Deputy Secretary to Cabinet. Below is a statement from Sata’s ‘voice mail’.

PRESIDENT SATA RETIRES TEDDY MULONGA

 LUSAKA, Tuesday, September 18, 2012His Excellency Mr Michael Chilufya Sata, President of the Republic of Zambia, has retired deputy Secretary to the Cabinet Mr. Teddy Mulonga in national interest.  

 The Head of State thanked Mr. Mulonga for the services he rendered to the country during his tenure of office.  

And President Sata has appointed Ambassador Peter Kasanda as deputy Secretary to the Cabinet. Prior to the appointment, Ambassador Kasanda was serving as Ministry of Foreign Affairs permanent secretary.

Ambassador Kasanda has been replaced by Margaret Miyoba who has been transferred from Luapula Province to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the same capacity.

The changes are with immediate effect.
