A strike action is looming at the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) as management and unionised staff have reached a deadlock in salary increment negotiations.
Sources at the institution told the Watchdog that the unionised employees are demanding for 15 per cent increment which was the percentage given by all government employees and that this should have been effected on 1st January 2013.
But management have refused and are only offering five per cent increment. Which falls far short than their demands.
Sources said ZRA employees will not get the new salaries this month as the deadline for payroll which is 11th of each month has already past.
