Students manning UTH as pharmacists join strike

Nurses at the University Teaching Hospital have completely stayed away from work leaving students attending to patients.
Meanwhile, pharmacists at UTH this morning resolved to go on strike. Pharmacists at Kitwe Central, Arthur Davison children’s Hospital and Ndola central hospitals have already closed the pharmacies.
Healthy workers are protesting the PF government’s failure to honor their promises to increase their salaries.
The Government promised to award civil servants 200 per cent increment but most got less than 10 per cent.
At UTH, nurses were seeing loitering and chatting outside the hospital.
Students have been deployed to the wards to work with nursing supervisors.
