Supreme Court refuses to stop inauguration of Lungu

The Supreme Court has dismissed an application by United Party for National Development (UPND) President
Hakainde Hichilema and Vice-President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba in which they were seeking an injunction against the inauguration of PF’s Edgar Lungu.

Supreme Court Justice Nigel Mutuna who head the application in the morning at 10:30 hours made the judgment in chambers at 14:30 saying decisions made by the Constitutional Court can not be reviewed by the Supreme Court.

He also said a single judge of the Supreme Court has no jurisdiction to grant an injunction but
only the full bench of the court.
