A 73 year old man of Kakong’a village in chief Ishima’s area in Zambezi district was yesterday axed to death by unknown people but suspected to be caravinas.
The man, who was identified as Anderson Samwangala, met his fate when he was coming from a fishing spree in the Chitokoloki stream at around midmorning yesterday.
Samwangala’s nephew, Rohony Chivweta, narrated how his uncle was killed to Northwestern Province minister Josephine Limata, who visited the funeral house yesterday.
Mr. Chivweta said his uncle’s body was discovered 200 meters away from his house by his wife and daughter who went to search for him after noticing that had not returned home by afternoon.
He said his uncle was axed in the head and shoulders.
Mrs. Limata said government will not condone crime in the country and directed the police in the district to bring the culprits to book.
