Presidents of all major political parties will tomorrow hold a joint press briefing on the state of the nation.
‘Data’ received by the Watchdog Wednesday evening is that the opposition leaders will gather at Golf View Hotel in Lusaka from 09: 30 hours.
The agenda has not been given but the Watchdog has been reliably informed that the opposition leaders will defend the three judges who were suspended by President Michael Sata on Monday.
The leaders will also comment on the draft constitution but the main agenda will be a call to respect the current constitution in view of the suspension of the Judges Phillip Musonda, Nigel Mutuna and Charles Kajimanga.
The three judges were suspended after one of them Nigel Mutuna issued a judgement that ordered DPP Mutembo Nchito and Post Newspaper owner Fred M’membe to pay back the K14 billion loan they owe the Development Bank of Zambia through the defunct Zambian Airways.
It is not clear what action the opposition leaders will recommend but may demand the unconditional re-instatement of the judges.
