Sampa’s supporters arrested in Chingola

Thirteen people believed to be supporters and officials of Miles Sampa’s upcoming Democratic Front Party were last evening arrested in Chingola.

‘The 13 were having a meeting inside a private building. Coincidentally the people arrested are suspected members of Miles Sampa’s Democratic Front party. Among the arrested are the provincial chairman and other officials, a source told the Watchdog.

The group tried to explain that they had assembled as committee members for an upcoming Kitchen party to avoid arrest.

‘Its sad they had to lie. They are currently being detained in Chingola at Mulenga police,’ the source said.

It is believed that  a good number of PF councilors on the Copperbelt are preparing to ditch PF once Sampa’s party is formally registered and promulgated.
