Task Force warns and cautions Ngande Mwananjiti

The Government Joint Investigations Team Monday warned and cautioned fromer Afronet Director Ngande Mwanajiti and former Zambia Daily Mail Deputy Managing Director Davies Mataka in connection with the publication of a tabloid called the ‘Zambian Newspaper’.

The Task Force is investigating claims thatthe Zambian Government lost Two Hundred and Five million Kwacha (K205,000,000) to the publication.
Mwanajiti, the proprietor of the Zambian Newspaper has been cautioned for the alleged offence of Corrupt Acquisition of Public Property and Revenue Contrary to the Anti-Corruption Act of Zambia.

Mataka, former Deputy Managing Director of Zambia Daily Mail has been cautioned the same alleged offence.

Particulars of the charges are that the two between 1st  January 2011 and 1st November 2011 acquired and diverted K 205,000,000 from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services which was used in the publication of the ‘Zambian Newspaper’,  a privately owned newspaper.

This is according to  a statement released to the media by Government Joint Investigations Team acting Public Relations Officer Christopher Chibanku.
