The Lusaka Province consultative meeting which met at Kabulonga secondary school this afternoon unanimously rejected the salary pay rise being given by government of between 4% to 10%. The 4% offers translate into an increase of about K150 each for certificate holders, K200 for holders and K500 for degree holders.
The teachers drawn from all the unions openly expressed their anger at the state of affairs.Similar meetings were being held in all provincial centers!
The unions are yet to sign the new collective bargaining.
