Thieves strangle guard, loot ZANACO Senanga branch

Thieves broke into the Senanga Branch of Zambia National Commercial bank (ZANACO) and went away with money amounting to about 290 million kwacha over the weekend.

Western province commissioner of police Fanwell Siandenge disclosed that the thieves went through the roof of the building and blew up the strong room using unknown explosives before they got away with the money.

He said the thieves strangled the watchman living him with a cut on the head and abducted him to a nearby bush.
The Watchman is reported to be alive.
This is the third aggravated robbery act involving financial institutions in the region, the former being Finance Bank in Kaoma and Natsave in Mongu with some shopping centers.
