Three PF losing candidates withdraw petitions from court

Three losing PF parliamentary candidates in the September 20th polls have filed notices to have their election results petition case withdrawn.

The three who aspired for parliamentary seats in Lwangeni and Kapoche constituencies in Eastern province and Siavonga constituency in Southern provincehave asked the Lusaka High court to have their petitions withdrawn.

In Lwangeni in eastern province PF’s George Zulu had petitioned against the electionof Charles Zulu who stood as an independent candidate.

PF’s Paradistal Sakala who lost the Kapoche seat had petitioned the election of MMD’s Nicolas Banda as duly elected MP.

And in Siavonga Lovemore Kanyama, petitioned the election of Kennedy Hamudulu.

The High court is yet to grant the losers permission to withdraw.

More than sixty losing parliamentary candidates have petitioned the September 20 2011 parliamentary election results.
