Three Zambian ministers survive plane crash

A Zambia Air Force (ZAF-)plane carrying three cabinet ministers crash -landed Saturday at Mukinge airstrip in Kasempa District in North Western Province.

Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane, Works and Supply Minister Mike Mulongoti and Community Development counterpart, Michael Kaingu are said to have survived unhurt.

The three ministers were russhing to go and welcome President Banda in Kasempa who is going for a traditional ceremony.

ZAF planes have a very poor record of safety. In 1994, a ZAF plane crashed off the coast of Gabon killing the entire national soccer team.

Planes from Zambia are banned from the European airspace because they are dangerous machines.

The accident happened this morning as the ZAF plane was about to land.

The mangled ZAF plane has been left at the accident scene.

State House Senior Private Secretary Differ Mulimba was also on the place when the accident happened.
