TIZ advises Sata not to label all parastatals corrupt

Transparency International Zambia President Rueben Lifuka says it is not right for President Michael Sata to label all parastatal boards as perpetrators of corruption.

In a statement released to the Watchdog, Lifuka noted that though corruption has drastically affected the development of Zambia, boards are still needed for the smooth running of organizations.

He said President Sata’s government must acknowledge the fact that not all individuals operating parastatal boards are corrupt as the guilty are just certain members of the boards.

Lifuka also said that citizens being appointed to replace those termed corrupt will need to start from somewhere and may need the help of their predecessors.
